Swiss politics is increasingly concerned with artificial intelligence (AI).

In recent months, the Swiss Federal Council has responded to a number of political proposals. For example, on possible damage caused by false statements made by chatbots (23.7059), on the collection of biometric data in railway stations (23.3024), or on the impact of general purpose AI in general (22.1074).

In the current special parliament session, several motions on the subject have now been submitted. In particular, a postulate demanding that the Federal Council examine a transparency register for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by federal companies (23.3565). Another postulate calls for the transparency register for the use of artificial intelligence by the federal administration to be reviewed for completeness (23.3566). Motion 23.3563 calls for regulation of "deepfakes". Finally, several motions are pending that deal with the regulation of AI on a higher level (23.1011, 23.3583, 23.3201, 23.3147).
