At its meeting on 25 October 2023, the Federal Council approved the dispatch on the agreement between the two countries on the exchange of data on gambling suspensions.

So far, people who are banned from gambling in one of the two countries can visit casinos in the other country. The mutual recognition of gambling suspensions is intended to prevent cross-border gambling tourism and ensure effective player protection.

Under the terms of the agreement, gaming operators in both countries will be required to exchange the data on banned persons necessary for the application of the suspension and to recognise each other's suspensions.

Further information on this topic can be found in the Federal Council’s media release (available only in German).
