The multilingual expert on trade policy and regulation: for Swiss, EU, APAC and US law.
Maura specializes in trade (WTO) policy and regulation. She covers multiple jurisdictions (CH, EU, US, SEA), and her work in government, academia, and the private sector affords her with a vantage perspective on the field. In her advisory capacity, she addresses all matters related to trade facilitation and compliance with customs regulations, sanctions/export controls and sustainability issues.
In particular, Maura provides assistance with customs and export controls compliance maturity assessments, fit-gap analyses or audit and due diligence assessments. Her clients also require advice on rules of origin interpretation (FTA regulations), product classification and valuation.
Further, Maura's work covers sanctions/export controls, and she advises clients on rapidly and continuously evolving EU, UN and national regulations. Her clients often require assistance with meeting licensing requirements and obtaining export permits from national regulatory authorities (such as SECO in CH).
Finally, Maura is passionate about sustainable trade, and has worked with policymakers on implementing multilateral principles (UN SDGs), drafting national sustainability policies, and effectively transposing the above onto private companies’ daily compliance agenda.
